In this episode of The Story Behind the Camera: Capturing the History of ABA, we explore the innovative storytelling techniques of filmmaker and behavioral scientist Ryan O'Donnell. Ryan, creator of the documentary The History of Applied Behavior Analysis: Part I, shares the creative and ethical process behind his work, including a captivating moment where he brought one of ABA’s historical figures to life. With permission from a surviving relative, Ryan used AI voice technology to recreate the figure’s voice, allowing them to read a personal letter from the past. In addition, Ryan reflects on his early days on YouTube, where he first began merging his passions for filmmaking and behavior analysis. This episode highlights how Ryan’s groundbreaking work is preserving the legacy of ABA through technology and storytelling in a truly unique way.
